The Paralegal and Pro Bono Coordinator position at Harvard Law School's Legal Services Center (LSC) is a full-time role based in Jamaica Plain, MA. This position supports the Veterans Legal Clinic, which provides direct legal representation to low-income disabled veterans and their families. The Clinic offers Harvard Law students hands-on lawyering opportunities and engages in diverse practice areas, including federal and state veterans' benefits appeals, discharge upgrades, and estate planning matters.

Key responsibilities include conducting initial client intake through phone calls and meetings, screening cases for eligibility, gathering and organizing records, and maintaining case files. The coordinator will work closely with clients and attorneys on all aspects of the Clinic's docket, serve as a liaison with pro bono attorneys and referral organizations, maintain the Clinic's online case management system, and contribute to community outreach and engagement efforts.

Candidates should have at least one year of relevant experience and a high school diploma or equivalent. A demonstrated interest in working with the veterans community is essential. Effective interpersonal skills, including active listening and empathy, are required, along with discretion, good judgment, and strong written, verbal, and organizational skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are also necessary.

This is a two-year term appointment with potential for renewal, subject to funding and departmental need. The position offers a hybrid work format, combining on-site and remote work.
