Online Ordering Specialist - Freelance Project
The Online Ordering Specialist role is a freelance position focused on assisting restaurants and merchants in implementing direct, commission-free online ordering platforms. The specialist will work remotely, providing technical consultation and onboarding support to ensure seamless integration of online ordering systems with existing websites, Google My Business (GMB), and Google Food Ordering (GFO). This role is part of a digital commerce project aimed at enhancing merchants' online presence and operational efficiency.
Key responsibilities include guiding merchants through the complete setup of their online ordering pages, ensuring high-quality implementations, and integrating these systems into their current websites, GMB, and GFO. The specialist will also assist in building new websites or customizing existing pages to reflect the merchant's brand identity and meet design standards. Additionally, the role involves independently managing complex integrations, such as with Toast POS systems and dual menus, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring all ordering links are fully functional.
Candidates should possess a strong technical aptitude with the ability to quickly learn new platforms, build trust with clients, and confidently address objections related to technology, time, or cost. Excellent communication skills are essential for understanding merchant needs and articulating appropriate digital solutions. Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail) and comfort with data-driven decision-making are required. Preferred qualifications include familiarity with e-commerce platforms, restaurant POS systems (especially Toast), basic knowledge of HTML/CSS or website customization, and experience in B2B sales, customer success, or merchant onboarding.
The position offers a pay rate of $5 per hour. As a contractor, the specialist is expected to provide a secure computer and high-speed internet; company-sponsored benefits such as health insurance and paid time off do not apply. The engagement type is freelance/independent contractor, and the workplace is remote.
