New York Funds Knowledge Lawyer
Clifford Chance, a leading global law firm, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Knowledge Lawyer to join its Funds team in New York. This role is designed to support the Funds team by providing practice support, knowledge management, AI adoption assistance, horizon scanning, thought leadership, and training. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in enhancing the team's technical and commercial capabilities.
Key responsibilities include offering precedent and resource recommendations, conducting legal research, and providing guidance on various fund matters. The Knowledge Lawyer will coordinate with the firm's opinion committee to update and maintain legal opinion templates and facilitate access to the firm's resources and services. Additionally, the role involves collecting and curating a comprehensive suite of practice-specific resources, collaborating with lawyers across the firm's network on knowledge management initiatives, and driving AI adoption within the Funds team by identifying use cases for AI and other technological solutions.
The ideal candidate will possess a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited U.S. law school and be admitted to the New York Bar. A minimum of five years of experience practicing law in fund formation, particularly with closed-ended private fund structures and related regulatory considerations, is essential. Strong legal research and analytical skills, the ability to create and manage legal precedents and templates, and experience in organizing and delivering training sessions are also required. Preferred competencies include proactivity, self-motivation, strong interpersonal skills, and excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Clifford Chance US LLP offers a comprehensive benefits and compensation package. The salary range for this role is $230,000 to $285,000 annually, commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and relevant experience.
