New Business Sales Executive
The New Business Sales Executive at Octus is responsible for generating new business across the US, focusing on institutional clients such as hedge funds, asset managers, investment banks, and CLO managers. This role involves identifying prospects, evaluating their industry positions, and managing the full sales cycle to exceed annual targets. The position is based in New York City with a hybrid schedule of three days per week in the office.
Key responsibilities include establishing business opportunities by researching and analyzing sales options, managing all facets of the sales cycle—including pitching, demoing, negotiating, and closing deals—and identifying competitive advantages by understanding how current subscribers leverage Octus products. The role also requires interfacing with prospects to effectively communicate the value of all Octus offerings.
Candidates should have at least two years of experience in a quota-carrying, full-cycle new business sales role, with a demonstrated ability to meet and exceed targets. Experience selling financial research, analytics, or data—preferably related to credit—to buy-side and/or sell-side institutions is essential. The role demands strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple ongoing workstreams in a highly collaborative environment.
Octus offers a competitive salary range of $110,000 to $135,000, plus monthly commission.
