Motion Designer (Social Content)
Canva is seeking a Motion Designer (Social Content) to join their Content Studio team, focusing on creating high-quality video assets, animation sequences, transitions, visual effects, and narrative-driven content for Canva’s content library. This role contributes directly to Canva’s video ecosystem, helping millions of users tell better stories through motion and moving visuals.
Key responsibilities include designing and animating video assets, motion graphics, transitions, characters, and storytelling elements; creating looping animations, expressive scenes, and narrative-driven sequences; collaborating with template designers to ensure assets integrate seamlessly into user workflows; working with product teams to understand new motion features and build assets that demonstrate them; maintaining high levels of craft while producing content at scalable volume; participating in creative reviews, asset planning, and experimentation cycles; and staying up-to-date with animation trends, editing styles, and visual storytelling techniques.
The ideal candidate is motion-obsessed and skilled in animation, timing, pacing, and visual storytelling; comfortable working across multiple styles; excited to create assets that empower others to tell their stories; inspired by the challenge of simplifying professional-level motion for everyday users; curious about the evolving world of motion design, film language, and mixed-media visuals; and collaborative, autonomous, and comfortable working in fast-paced content production environments.
