Mobile Service Technician, San Jose
The Mobile Service Technician at Lucid Motors is responsible for performing field service repairs on Lucid vehicles, traveling to client locations to diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicles. This role operates independently with support from the nearest service location, utilizing a company-provided service van or truck equipped with necessary tools. Technicians are expected to obtain ASE certifications within 6-8 months of hire, with Lucid reimbursing associated costs.
Key responsibilities include functioning as a Service Advisor, managing parts department duties such as ordering and inventory management, and delivering high-level customer service. Technicians must effectively document all customer vehicle interactions, maintain comprehensive knowledge of High Voltage (HV), Low Voltage (LV), and general Electric Vehicle (EV) systems, and accurately perform vehicle assessments and repairs. Additional duties involve invoicing, payment collection, scheduling appointments, and providing support at service centers as needed.
Candidates should have 2-5 years of experience as an automotive service technician, be self-sufficient and highly organized, and possess knowledge of HV and LV systems and EV powertrains. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, EPA 609 Certification, and a valid driver's license with no recent suspensions are required. Preferred qualifications include ASE Certifications (A4, A5, A6, A7, A8, L3, L4 - ADAS), previous mobile service technician experience, EV diagnosis and repair experience, and experience in luxury automobile repair environments.
Lucid Motors offers a competitive compensation range of $34 to $47 per hour, along with a wide range of benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k.
