MLOps Field Engineer
Canonical is seeking an MLOps Field Engineer to assist global enterprises in integrating AI and machine learning into their operations using open-source technologies on public and private cloud infrastructures. The role involves collaborating with the Field Engineering team to design and implement solutions that leverage Ubuntu, Kubernetes, and related tools, addressing complex data architecture challenges for a diverse client base.
Key responsibilities include working across the entire Linux stack, from kernel to applications, and architecting cloud infrastructure solutions such as Kubernetes, Kubeflow, OpenStack, and Spark. The engineer will deliver solutions both on-premise and in public cloud environments like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. Additionally, the role involves collecting customer requirements, advising on relevant open-source applications, delivering presentations and demonstrations, and collaborating with sales teams to achieve common targets. The position requires global travel up to 30% of the time for events and customer meetings.
Candidates should have an exceptional academic track record and an undergraduate degree in a technical field or equivalent experience. Required skills include experience in data engineering, MLOps, or big data solutions deployment, proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Rust, and practical knowledge of Linux, virtualization, containers, and networking. Familiarity with cloud computing concepts and platforms like Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, and GCP is essential. Strong interpersonal skills, a passion for technology, and a commitment to continuous learning are also important.
