Member of Technical Staff - Real-Time Storage

xAI is seeking experienced storage and database engineers to join their team in Palo Alto, California. The company is developing a new storage tier to support AI infrastructure, serving approximately 600 million users monthly. This role involves building and operating systems that power training, inference, recommendations, and real-time data extraction.

Key responsibilities include designing and launching new features to unify storage system components, addressing performance issues to meet latency and availability requirements, leading incident responses and postmortem reviews, mentoring peers through code and design reviews, and adapting to new technologies as needed.

Candidates should have at least 7 years of software development experience, including 2 years focused on building storage systems or databases. Proficiency in high-performance C++, Rust, or JVM-based languages is required, along with expertise in developing scalable and resilient distributed systems.
