Member of Technical Staff - International Government
xAI is seeking a Member of Technical Staff to join its newly formed civilian team focused on engineering and deploying AI capabilities for international government agencies and public sector workflows worldwide. This role involves collaborating with product, research, infrastructure, and legal teams to enhance the utility of xAI's models, such as the Grok family, for global civilian missions while maintaining safety, transparency, and ethical standards.
Key responsibilities include designing, building, and optimizing integrations between xAI's frontier models and international government systems, developing secure and scalable solutions for diverse global contexts, and creating custom SDKs, APIs, and developer tools tailored for international government and enterprise developers. The role also involves partnering with international agency stakeholders to understand requirements, prototype solutions, and iterate rapidly based on real-world feedback, including during on-site assignments.
Candidates should have at least 4 years of hands-on software engineering experience building scalable systems, APIs, or AI/ML applications, with strong proficiency in Python. Experience in fine-tuning AI models for government or mission-critical use cases, deploying complex AI and data systems in sovereign environments, and ensuring compliance with international regulations is essential. The role requires a willingness and ability to undertake travel and international assignments to regions such as the Americas, Asia, and the Middle East.
