The Medical Director will play a pivotal role within PhaseV's Tel Aviv team, providing clinical oversight and interpretation across all four product modules: Response Optimizer, Trial Optimizer, Portfolio Optimizer, and Clin Ops Optimizer. This individual will collaborate closely with data scientists, engineers, and product teams to ensure the clinical relevance and accuracy of PhaseV's AI-driven models. Additionally, the Medical Director will engage directly with clients, including pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and CRO partners, serving as a clinical expert in discussions and translating data science outputs into actionable medical insights.
Key responsibilities include offering clinical and scientific leadership by guiding internal teams on clinical concepts pertinent to ongoing projects and ensuring the highest standard of clinical relevance in platform outputs and client deliverables. The Medical Director will also support business development efforts by partnering with the business development team to communicate PhaseV's clinical value proposition to clients, participating in client meetings, partnership discussions, and proposal development as a clinical subject matter expert. Furthermore, the role involves contributing to new product development by collaborating with product and data science teams to inform new platform capabilities, providing clinical feasibility input during early-stage product ideation and design, and helping define clinically meaningful use cases, endpoints, and success criteria for new offerings.
The ideal candidate will possess an M.D. degree and demonstrate excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary startup environment. Fluency in English is required, and a curiosity and willingness to engage with advanced biostatistics and causal machine learning are essential, though technical expertise is not mandatory. Preferred qualifications include experience supporting business development efforts, a background in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or CRO environments, exposure to health technology, AI in healthcare, or related fields, a track record of thought leadership through publications, conference presentations, or industry writing, prior exposure to adaptive trial design, Bayesian methods, or AI/ML in clinical settings, working knowledge of clinical trial methodology and regulatory frameworks (FDA, EMA, GCP), and possession of a second advanced degree (Ph.D. or MBA).
