Mechanical Maintenance Technicians

As a Mechanical Maintenance Technician at BESIX Sharjah, you will be an integral part of the Operations and Maintenance department, ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) equipment. BESIX, through its subsidiary Six Construct, is the largest Belgian construction company operating in the Middle East, specializing in a diverse range of projects including commercial and residential buildings, sports and leisure facilities, infrastructure, and marine-related developments.

In this role, your primary responsibilities will include maintaining STP assets such as screens, wash compactors, grit extraction systems, blowers, and aerators. You will perform overhauls, repairs, and replacements of parts for pumps, valves, penstocks, and other mechanical equipment. Additionally, you will be tasked with aligning and installing motors and pumps, conducting diagnostic tests to identify functionality issues, and ensuring thorough maintenance of machinery and systems to maximize reliability. Maintaining cleanliness and adhering to safety protocols within STP areas will also be essential.

The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or equivalent qualification, with certification from a vocational or trade school being preferred. A minimum of two years of experience in a similar role is required, along with a solid understanding of mechanical tools, techniques, and terminology. Basic knowledge of health and safety procedures in a plant environment and the ability to follow both oral and written instructions are essential.
