Mechanical II (BOS)

CannonDesign is seeking a Mechanical II engineer to join their multidisciplinary team in Boston, Massachusetts. This role involves working under the guidance of a licensed engineer on projects that include new construction and renovations in educational, healthcare, corporate commercial, and science and technology sectors.

Key responsibilities include designing HVAC systems, including ductwork and piping, and selecting equipment for building designs. The engineer will calculate heating and cooling loads, create Revit/BIM models of construction drawings, and specify mechanical equipment such as boilers, chillers, and air handling units. Additional tasks involve reviewing shop drawings for compliance, attending project meetings, and conducting site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress.

Candidates should possess a Bachelor or Master's degree in Engineering, preferably from an ABET-accredited program, and have a minimum of 4 years of related experience. Preferred qualifications include EIT/FE certification, LEED accreditation, and proficiency in engineering design software such as Revit, Trane Trace, or Trane 3D Plus. Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects are essential.

The salary range for this position is $76,570 to $95,665 annually, with eligibility for discretionary bonuses.
