Mechanical IB

CannonDesign is seeking a Mechanical IB to join their multi-disciplinary team in Arlington, Virginia. This role involves working under the guidance of a licensed engineer on projects that include new construction and renovation in educational, healthcare, corporate commercial, and science and technology sectors.

As a Mechanical IB, your responsibilities will include designing uncomplicated piping and equipment selection for HVAC systems, preparing building load calculations using modeling software, and assisting with plumbing and fire protection designs as necessary. You will also prepare Revit/BIM modeling of construction drawings for HVAC systems, assist with editing specifications, review submittals and shop drawings for compliance, and perform job site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress.

Candidates should have a Bachelor or Master's degree in Engineering, with preference given to those from an ABET-accredited program. A minimum of 2 years of related experience is required, along with proficiency in engineering design programs such as Revit, Trane Trace, or Trane 3D Plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively handle multiple projects are essential. EIT/FE certification and LEED accreditation are preferred.
