Mechanical - Entry Level (STL)
CannonDesign is seeking an Entry-Level Mechanical Engineer to join their multidisciplinary team in St. Louis, Missouri. This role involves working under the guidance of a licensed engineer on projects that encompass new construction and renovations in educational, healthcare, corporate commercial, and science and technology sectors.
As an Entry-Level Mechanical Engineer, your responsibilities will include assisting in the design of HVAC systems, including ductwork, piping, controls, and equipment selection. You will also support plumbing and fire protection designs as needed. Additional tasks involve preparing building load calculations and energy models using appropriate software, contributing to Revit/BIM modeling of construction drawings, and assisting in the development of specifications. You may also participate in site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, preferably from an ABET-accredited program. A solid understanding of advanced heat transfer, solar energy, and fluid dynamics principles is essential. Related internship experience is preferred, and EIT or LEED accreditation is advantageous. Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills are necessary, along with the ability to manage multiple projects. Proficiency in engineering design software such as Revit, Trane Trace, or Trane 3D Plus is preferred.
The compensation for this position ranges from $27.26 to $34.08 per hour, with eligibility for discretionary bonuses.
