The Mechanical Cost Estimator at Facility Optimization Solutions (FOS), a subsidiary of CannonDesign, plays a pivotal role in organizing, maintaining, and expanding the Job Order Contracting (JOC) unit cost database. This position is open to candidates nationwide, offering flexibility in work location.

In this role, the estimator is responsible for researching and generating new items and CSI MasterFormat divisions, including descriptions, scope clarifications, markups, labor, material, and equipment costs. They update existing unit costs, expand and clarify item descriptions and scope, and identify relationships between items, quantities, and costs to combine multiple items into assembly-based unit costs. Collaboration with contractors, field Account Managers, client Project Managers, and other project members is essential to determine appropriate item selections, review and verify bid proposals, reconcile item costs and scope, and add new items.

Candidates should possess an Associate or Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field, with at least 3 years of experience, or 5 years of experience in lieu of formal education. A thorough knowledge of mechanical cost estimating, including various commercial building types, mechanical system types, means and methods, and regional market conditions, is required. Proficiency in adopting and utilizing multiple software platforms, experience with CSI MasterFormat and UniFormat coding structures, and strong analytical, organizational, communication, collaboration, and time management skills are essential.

The salary range for this position is $57,600 to $72,000 annually, with eligibility for discretionary bonuses.
