Market Risk Senior Analyst
Robinhood is seeking a Market Risk Senior Analyst to join its dynamic team, dedicated to democratizing finance for all. This role is integral to the Brokerage Risk team, which focuses on assessing, monitoring, and mitigating risk exposures related to securities and derivatives trading, as well as margin products. The position is based in Chicago, IL, Denver, CO, Lake Mary, FL, or New York, NY, with in-person attendance expected at least three days per week.
In this role, the Market Risk Senior Analyst will evaluate market conditions and analyze emerging risks at systemic, sector, or individual security levels. Responsibilities include collaborating with margin teams to manage the firm's market risk profile, both tactically on a day-to-day basis and strategically based on the firm's risk appetite. The analyst will also work with cross-functional teams to perform risk assessments, control testing, and risk event retrospectives, as well as design and monitor risk indicators, exposure limits, and dashboards for continuous monitoring of operational and financial risk.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field, with at least 8 years of experience at a brokerage or trading firm. Strong SQL skills are essential for querying complex datasets and performing statistical analysis. A comprehensive understanding of market and credit risk management, particularly in equity options and futures, is required. The ideal candidate will have experience monitoring portfolio stress test results and a proven ability to develop intuitive dashboards and alerting systems.
Compensation for this role is competitive and varies based on location. In Zone 1 locations (Menlo Park, CA; New York, NY; Bellevue, WA; Washington, DC), the expected base pay range is $115,000—$135,000 USD. In Zone 2 locations (Denver, CO; Westlake, TX; Chicago, IL), the range is $101,000—$119,000 USD. In Zone 3 locations (Lake Mary, FL; Clearwater, FL; Gainesville, FL), the range is $89,000—$105,000 USD.
