As a Manufacturing Product Engineer at Graphcore, you will collaborate closely with Design and Test Engineering teams, Quality, and Supply Chain Management to support new product introduction (NPI) development and volume production. This role involves working with Contract Manufacturers (CMs) to provide daily manufacturing support and drive continuous improvements in manufacturing capabilities, quality, and yield. A key focus will be developing and enhancing data-driven decision-making methodologies using Lean Six Sigma and similar techniques within Graphcore and its suppliers.

Key responsibilities include developing a deep technical understanding of CM capabilities to ensure alignment with hardware design, supporting the technical interface between internal engineering teams and the CM during NPI and mass production, and driving continuous improvement in PCB assembly process capability, yield, throughput, and quality at CM sites. Additionally, you will work with supplier engineering to apply Lean Six Sigma tools and statistical methods to reduce defects, variation, scrap, and rework, champion best practices in manufacturing data collection and management, and lead structured problem-solving activities using methodologies such as DMAIC, 8D, fishbone analysis, FMEA, and Design of Experiments.

The ideal candidate will have strong working knowledge and experience of L6 (PCB assembly) processes, equipment, materials, and inspection, as well as experience in introducing and sustaining complex products in an SMT environment. An understanding of root cause analysis of manufacturing faults and their resolution, manufacturing execution and engineering data collection systems, and a data-driven approach to decision-making are essential. Proficiency in industry-standard statistical analysis tools (e.g., JMP, SQL, Python) and data visualization techniques, along with a Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt and demonstrable experience implementing these methodologies in a production environment, are required. The ability to work on your own initiative as well as in cross-functional and cross-regional teams, strong interpersonal skills, fluency in Mandarin, and strong working proficiency in spoken and written English are also necessary. A degree or equivalent in Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related discipline is required.

In addition to a competitive salary, Graphcore offers a comprehensive benefits package. The company is committed to building an inclusive work environment that makes Graphcore a great home for everyone. They offer an equal opportunity process and understand that there are visible and invisible differences in all individuals. Graphcore provides a flexible approach to interviews and encourages candidates to discuss any reasonable adjustments they may require.
