Managing Director, Bankruptcy & Workouts

Legalist is seeking a Managing Director for Bankruptcy & Workouts to lead our investment strategies in distressed assets. As a key member of our leadership team, you will drive the growth and management of our bankruptcy and workout portfolios, contributing to our mission of generating risk-adjusted returns through legal asset investments.

In this role, you will oversee the sourcing, evaluation, and execution of investment opportunities in distressed debt and bankruptcy situations. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include leading due diligence processes, structuring deals, and managing relationships with stakeholders such as legal professionals, financial advisors, and distressed companies. Additionally, you will develop and implement strategies to optimize the performance of our distressed asset investments.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in distressed debt investing, bankruptcy proceedings, and financial restructuring. A minimum of 10 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or a related field is required. Exceptional analytical skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to lead a team are essential. A Juris Doctor (JD) or Master of Business Administration (MBA) is preferred.
