Our client, a leading health and wellness platform revolutionizing telehealth for providers and patients, is seeking a Managing Counsel, Product. This role involves leading a team of attorneys responsible for providing practical, business-minded guidance on the marketing and promotion of the company's consumer products, including digital offerings and FDA-regulated products. The position serves as a strategic partner to the company's marketing, product, and growth teams, operating at the intersection of product innovation, healthcare regulation, marketing, and e-commerce.

Key responsibilities include serving as a senior legal adviser for the company's full product portfolio, advising on product development, launches, lifecycle management, and promotional initiatives. The role requires proactively identifying, interpreting, and implementing consumer protection-related state and federal laws impacting products and services. Additionally, the Managing Counsel will partner closely with senior product and marketing leaders to understand strategy, roadmaps, and growth initiatives, helping to shape business decisions. Leading, developing, and mentoring a team of attorneys, as well as setting standards and best practices to scale product legal review efficiently, are also key aspects of the role.

The ideal candidate will possess a Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction. They should have over nine years of experience practicing at a law firm and/or in-house, with experience advising on consumer products and advertising/marketing issues. The role requires the ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic environment, excellent communication and relationship-building skills, and the capacity to balance strategic guidance with hands-on execution. Preferred qualifications include experience leading a team of attorneys, advising on AI-powered products, and a background in consumer goods, health tech, or digital product ecosystems.

Compensation is targeted at an annual base salary range of $240,000 to $270,000, along with an equity grant and generous benefits. The total compensation package will vary depending on the candidate's level of seniority, years of directly relevant experience, and geographic location.
