The Managing Counsel, Privacy and Data Security will play a pivotal role within LA28's legal team, focusing on ensuring compliance with domestic and international data protection regulations. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the successful delivery of the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games by safeguarding the organization's data assets and privacy practices.

Key responsibilities include serving as the primary liaison for all data security and protection matters, drafting and updating privacy policies and terms of use, and developing and implementing data protection procedures. The role also involves advising various business teams on privacy regulations, negotiating data privacy terms in contracts, and collaborating with the Technology department to design and implement training on data protection.

Candidates should possess a minimum of 5 years of professional experience related to data privacy and protection, with U.S. Data Protection and/or privacy certifications (CIPP/US) highly preferred. A strong understanding of domestic and international data privacy regulations, experience in drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, and familiarity with implementing data privacy compliance programs are essential. California Bar admission is strongly preferred.
