Manager, Strategic Pricing
The Manager, Strategic Pricing at Norton Rose Fulbright is responsible for developing and executing pricing strategies to enhance the firm's revenue and profitability. This role involves leading a team of analysts or senior analysts who create and deliver pricing proposals and financial analyses aligned with the firm's pricing strategy. The position collaborates with various departments, including Pricing, Legal Project Management, Business Development, Innovation, Finance, Knowledge Management, and Billing Professionals, and reports directly to the Director of Strategic Pricing and Legal Project Management.
Key responsibilities encompass managing the development of pricing proposals, conducting financial modeling, profitability analysis, and structuring firm fee proposals. The Manager works closely with Senior Pricing Managers and firm partners to develop budgets and alternative fee arrangements, focusing on key assumptions, success factors, deliverables, milestones, resources, risks, and payment terms. Additionally, the role involves developing processes to capture and leverage historical metrics to analyze the profitability of prior legal projects, coaching partners on strategic pricing options, and liaising with Senior Pricing Managers and firm management to secure approvals for discounted hourly rate proposals and alternative fee arrangements.
Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree, preferably in a business-related field such as Finance, Economics, Accounting, or Marketing. A Juris Doctor (JD) is considered a plus. A minimum of three years of experience in legal services pricing is required, with advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Experience with law firm technology such as Clocktimizer, Foundation, Aderant Expert, BigHand/Iridium, or other matter planning software is preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills, comprehensive knowledge of rate structures, discount arrangements, billing terms, and alternative fee arrangements are essential. The ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines with shifting priorities, and maintain confidentiality is crucial.
