Manager of Enterprise Open Source Sales Team
Canonical is seeking a Manager for its Enterprise Open Source Sales Team to lead a group of five to ten enterprise sales representatives across various global regions. This role is pivotal in driving the adoption of Ubuntu, Canonical's leading Linux distribution, which serves as the preferred platform for public cloud computing and is widely utilized by software engineers, data scientists, and AI developers. Canonical's mission is to accelerate the global adoption and quality of open source software, aiming to become the most widely deployed software platform worldwide.
The Manager will be responsible for building and executing a comprehensive territory plan, allocating accounts to team members, and identifying new business opportunities. Key duties include monitoring pipeline development, supporting contract closures to meet and exceed sales targets, and collaborating with customer success teams to identify growth opportunities. Maintaining accurate pipeline data and forecasts within Salesforce is also essential.
Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree, preferably in engineering or computer science, and demonstrate strong leadership and management skills. Experience with open source technologies, enterprise software sales, and a proven track record of achieving sales targets are required. The role demands self-discipline, motivation, and the ability to work effectively in a distributed team environment. Proficiency in English and the ability to travel for customer engagements and company events are also necessary.
