The Manager – Legal at PhonePe will be an integral part of the in-house legal team, focusing on commercial procurement contracts and commercial laws within the Indian corporate and regulatory environment. This role requires a balance of legal expertise, commercial awareness, and stakeholder management to ensure business operations align with applicable laws and contractual obligations.

Key responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various agreements such as commercial procurement contracts, technology and SaaS agreements, MSAs, NDAs, SLAs, licensing agreements, and consulting/service contracts. The role also involves ensuring clarity of commercial terms, risk assessment, and protection of the company's interests, as well as customizing standard templates and building negotiation playbooks tailored to the company's risk appetite and processes.

The ideal candidate should possess an LLB or LLM from a recognized Indian law school or university, with 7-10 years of post-qualification experience in commercial contracts, preferably with a focus on procurement contracts and law firm experience. Strong command of Indian contract law and commercial legal principles, advanced legal drafting and redlining skills, and excellent negotiation abilities with internal and external parties are essential.
