Manager, Intellectual Property
Secretariat is seeking a Manager to join its Intellectual Property (IP) team in Washington, D.C. The IP team specializes in providing expert economic analysis and testimony in high-stakes legal, risk, and regulatory matters worldwide. As a Manager, you will be part of a dynamic team of economists, statisticians, accountants, and financial analysts dedicated to delivering clear and credible insights in complex IP disputes.
In this role, you will lead one to three cases simultaneously, managing teams of Associates and overseeing case research and data analysis. Your responsibilities will include working with complex databases and raw client data using tools such as Stata, R, Databricks, Microsoft Excel, and ArcGIS for graphical and statistical analysis. You will analyze industry participants and market competition, calculate cost and damages estimates, consult with clients and private sources to obtain necessary data, investigate industries and companies using online and government resources, and review litigation and case documents. Additionally, you will mentor junior team members and contribute to the growth and development of the IP team.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in Economics, Finance, Data Analytics, or Public Policy, with an MBA, MA, MS, or PhD preferred. You should have 4-6 years of experience at a consulting firm, law firm, regulatory agency, or in a corporate advisory role, with proven experience working on high-profile IP matters. Strong project management and client-facing skills are essential, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling you to present complex issues clearly to non-experts. Authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for future sponsorship is required.
Compensation for this role ranges from $120,000 to $160,000 USD annually, based on experience, skills, and location.
