Garner Health is seeking a Developer Experience Engineering Manager to lead a specialized team within the Platform division. This role focuses on integrating advanced AI capabilities into the internal development ecosystem, ensuring that as Garner scales, its developers remain highly productive and impactful. The position reports to the VP of Platform Engineering and offers the flexibility of remote work with occasional travel to the New York City headquarters.

The primary responsibilities include leading and mentoring a high-performing engineering team dedicated to building an AI-first developer platform. The manager will architect and implement AI-assisted development tools, such as agentic code review and on-call systems, to streamline the software development lifecycle. Additionally, the role involves defining and tracking engineering adoption, velocity, and quality metrics to provide data-driven insights that justify platform investments. Collaboration with product and security engineering leads is essential to identify systemic bottlenecks and deploy automated solutions, allowing teams to focus on feature development. The manager will also own the roadmap for Developer Experience, prioritizing initiatives that address high-impact technical debt and modernize CI/CD and deployment technologies and processes.

The ideal candidate possesses a proven track record of ownership, having successfully managed complex technical systems end-to-end while maintaining high reliability and performance standards. Technical mastery of modern infrastructure and AI integration is crucial, with the ability to lead technical design reviews and influence the broader engineering organization's technical direction. A systematic approach to analysis is required, breaking down complex productivity blockers into root causes and designing scalable, AI-driven solutions. Effective stakeholder relations are essential, with the ability to communicate technical trade-offs to non-technical partners and resolve cross-team dependencies to maintain high execution speed. Prioritizing efficiency and return on investment, the candidate should consistently translate ambiguous developer needs into well-defined roadmaps that deliver measurable improvements to Garner's engineering velocity. A desire to be part of a high-performing, mission-driven team that operates with urgency, individual accountability, and a commitment to authentic feedback is also important.

The target salary range for this position is $219,000 to $250,000 annually. Individual compensation will depend on various factors, including qualifications, skills, and applicable laws. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible to participate in equity incentive and competitive benefits plans, including flexible PTO, medical/dental/vision plan options, 401(k), Teladoc Health, and more.

Garner Health fosters a culture of innovation and collaboration, emphasizing the integration of AI to enhance developer productivity. The company is committed to transforming the healthcare economy by delivering high-quality and affordable care for all. This role offers a unique opportunity to join a fast-growing company in a transformative position, helping shape the future of healthcare.
