Canonical is seeking a Data Center Infrastructure Engineer to manage and maintain its MAAS test labs in the Toronto area. This role involves overseeing the day-to-day operations of the lab, which is utilized for Ubuntu server certification of U.S.-based silicon and server designs. The engineer will work with a mix of cutting-edge and established hardware to ensure optimal performance of Ubuntu versions.

Key responsibilities include operating a fully automated server lab with the latest server and network silicon, maintaining accurate inventory and hardware layout, receiving and configuring new hardware, and enhancing software-driven operations using Python. The role also involves improving hardware and network monitoring through automation and collaborating with various teams, including MAAS engineers and kernel engineers.

The ideal candidate will possess a STEM Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science or Software Engineering, along with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Experience in data center operations, Linux administration, and Python programming is essential. Strong communication skills in English and the ability to work with a globally distributed team are also required. The candidate should have an exceptional academic track record and be willing to travel up to four times a year for internal events.
