Tyson & Mendes LLP, a nationally recognized law firm specializing in insurance defense litigation, is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join their San Francisco office. This role offers the opportunity to work within a collaborative team environment, supporting attorneys in civil litigation, personal injury, and construction defect cases. The firm emphasizes a culture of respect, transparency, and inclusion, providing a supportive setting for professional growth.

The Litigation Paralegal will be responsible for assisting attorneys with drafting and responding to discovery requests, including interrogatories, requests for admissions, and requests for production. Additional duties include preparing deposition and hearing binders, managing trial preparation tasks such as coordinating witnesses and exhibits, and organizing medical records and billings to calculate damages. Regular communication with clients, experts, and attorneys regarding case status and preparation is also a key aspect of the role.

Candidates should possess a paralegal certification and have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal, preferably with exposure to California state litigation. A solid understanding of civil litigation procedures, including state and federal deadlines and rules, is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as Adobe Acrobat, is required. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

The compensation package includes an hourly pay range of $30 to $43, depending on experience, with overtime paid at 1.5 times the regular hourly rate as needed. Paralegals are eligible for an annual bonus ranging from $250 to $3,000 and receive a monthly technology reimbursement of $60. Comprehensive benefits coverage is offered, including plans available at zero employee cost, and a 401(k) program with matching contributions. Paid parental leave and a 37.5-hour standard workweek are also part of the benefits package.

Tyson & Mendes LLP offers hybrid work opportunities, promoting work-life balance and productivity. The firm invests in the growth and success of its paralegals through mentorship, training, and ongoing learning opportunities. Employees are encouraged to participate in internal diversity and inclusion programs, such as the Women's Initiative and Young Professionals Initiative, and engage in the firm's charitable giving program.
