Litigation Attorney - California

Scale LLP, a modern, fully distributed law firm, is seeking a midlevel attorney to join its growing litigation practice in California. The firm offers high-performing attorneys the freedom to shape and grow their practices, manage direct client relationships, and avoid the bureaucracy and overhead of traditional Big Law.

The role involves managing all aspects of civil litigation on the defense side, including researching legal issues, drafting and arguing motions, preparing written discovery, handling depositions, and attending and preparing for trials, arbitrations, and mediations. Attorneys will directly communicate with clients to advise them on litigation risks and exposures, make strategic recommendations, and effectively manage litigation from start to finish.

Ideal candidates will have at least seven years of experience at a national or regional law firm or in-house with a reputable company, plus prior experience in private practice. Graduation from a top-tier law school or a demonstrated excellent and sustained reputation in the industry is preferred. An interest in having autonomy over one's own practice while collaborating with top-notch attorneys across corporate and intellectual property practices is essential.
