Legal / Senior Legal Counsel
The Athletics - Business Operations is seeking a Legal / Senior Legal Counsel to join their in-house legal team in Las Vegas, Nevada. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of legal matters within a dynamic and innovative organization.
As a Legal / Senior Legal Counsel, you will provide legal and compliance guidance across various departments, including sales, marketing, broadcasting, finance, information technology, international operations, stadium operations, baseball operations, public relations, litigation, workers’ compensation, intellectual property, and employment law. Your responsibilities will include drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, independent contractor agreements, licensing agreements, broadcasting agreements, and other agreements with customers, vendors, and third parties. You will also manage litigation matters, evaluate and revise company policies, and correspond with Major League Baseball entities and outside counsel to support the company's objectives.
The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials and bar membership in good standing. A minimum of four years of experience with a major law firm and/or in-house legal department is preferred, with in-house experience being advantageous. Strong negotiating and writing skills are essential, along with the ability to analyze complex issues and provide practical, business-oriented solutions. Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask are also important.
