Legal Manager
The Legal Manager at Vivo Energy will serve as the primary legal advisor for the operating unit, providing comprehensive legal support across all business functions. This role involves developing and implementing the unit's legal strategy to minimize risks and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The Legal Manager will work closely with the Central Legal team and external legal advisors to manage and oversee all litigation matters.
Key responsibilities include assessing and managing the operating unit's legal obligations and risks, ensuring full compliance with all applicable laws and Vivo Energy's business principles. The Legal Manager will provide legal advice on various business areas, including contract interpretation, dispute resolution, debt recovery, ethics and compliance issues, regulatory matters, and labor and employment disputes. Additionally, the role involves guiding the development and implementation of business strategies, particularly concerning mergers, acquisitions, disposals, and joint ventures. The Legal Manager will act as the main point of contact for all legal matters, managing relationships with external legal advisors and ensuring the company receives adequate legal services within agreed costs.
The ideal candidate must possess at least a bachelor's degree in law from a recognized university and have a minimum of four years of relevant work experience. A broad knowledge of the law is essential, along with familiarity with corporate governance, assurance structures, and policies. The candidate should also be well-versed in local legislation, policies, regulations, and agreements, especially those impacting the oil and gas industry.
