Legal Counsel
WPP is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its global legal team, supporting the WPP Media business. This role involves providing legal expertise to commercial and client teams, ensuring compliance with best practices and group guidelines. The successful candidate will report to the Senior Legal Counsel (Global) and may be required to travel occasionally.
Key responsibilities include drafting, negotiating, and advising on various commercial agreements such as media service agreements, content partnerships, sponsorships, vendor contracts, technology licenses, data processing agreements, and non-disclosure agreements. The role also involves managing legal aspects of pitch responses and client renegotiations, supporting complex and innovative projects, advising on regulatory and policy compliance across media, e-commerce, data privacy, and security issues, and developing user-friendly contract templates for business use.
The ideal candidate should have 6-8 years of post-qualification experience, preferably within an in-house legal team or law firm. Essential skills include excellent communication, strong drafting abilities, commercial acumen, and the capacity to manage a fast-paced workload. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and fluency in English are required. Experience in media, advertising, technology, or related sectors is desirable but not essential.
