William Osler Health System is seeking a dedicated Legal Counsel to join its Legal Affairs team. This role involves providing comprehensive legal services across the hospital's administrative and clinical departments, with a particular emphasis on corporate and commercial matters within the healthcare sector. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the hospital's compliance with legal obligations and supporting its strategic initiatives.

Key responsibilities include drafting, negotiating, and reviewing contracts and commercial transactional documents, focusing on memorandums of understanding, collaboration agreements, and other corporate/commercial matters such as procurements, finance, construction, leasing, information technology, and privacy-related agreements. The Legal Counsel will work closely with directors and managers to support their contractual requirements with vendors, other hospitals, and partners. Additionally, the role involves advising staff and management on legal matters, including contract law, administrative law, corporate/commercial law, health law, and other issues that may arise.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in law or a recognized equivalent, with a strong background in corporate and commercial law, particularly within the healthcare sector. They should demonstrate sound judgment, highly analytical skills, and a practical, solutions-oriented, and client-centered approach. Excellent communication and research skills, the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in teams, and strong consensus-building and interpersonal skills are essential.
