Delivery Hero, a global leader in local delivery services, is seeking a Legal Counsel specializing in Privacy to join its Global Data Protection Office in Barcelona. This role is integral to the company's mission of delivering exceptional experiences worldwide.
As a Legal Counsel, Privacy, you will provide expert, risk-based privacy advice on new products, initiatives, and operational changes. Your responsibilities include supporting rider privacy matters, particularly compliance with the EU Platform Work Directive's algorithmic management provisions and GDPR's automated decision-making requirements. You will also perform and support data protection impact assessments, partner with internal stakeholders on marketing initiatives, develop and maintain global privacy policies, and manage investigations or proceedings with data protection authorities. Additionally, you will monitor developments in AI governance and contribute to improving AI governance frameworks.
The ideal candidate will have a law degree and over three years of experience in privacy law, with exposure to marketing and algorithmic management in platform work contexts. Fluency in English is required, with proficiency in German, Spanish, Italian, or Polish considered a plus. Experience advising tech companies and data-driven businesses across multiple jurisdictions is advantageous. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, along with the ability to define compliance strategies in evolving legal frameworks, are essential. A proactive approach, taking ownership and anticipating challenges, is highly valued. Certifications in EU privacy laws, such as IAPP CIPP/E, CIPM, or TÜV DPO, are beneficial.
