The Legal Counsel, Life position at Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) is integral to the U.S. Legal Team, focusing on pro-life litigation within the Center for Life. This role involves defending the sanctity of life by protecting unborn children, their mothers, and pro-life advocates through constitutional and civil litigation. ADF is a nonprofit organization dedicated to defending religious freedom, free speech, the sanctity of life, marriage and family, and parental rights.

Key responsibilities include litigating high-profile lawsuits supporting unborn babies and their mothers, conducting legal research, interviewing clients and witnesses, drafting court filings, preparing and responding to written discovery, conducting and defending depositions, representing clients in court, and advising allied attorneys. The role also involves collaborating with the Development team on speaking engagements and other events, reviewing in-house contracts, and interacting with the media regarding cases and issues.

Candidates must possess a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree, an active license in at least one U.S. state bar, and the ability to meet admission requirements in the relevant jurisdiction within one year. A minimum of one year of complex litigation experience is required. Preferred qualifications include five or more years of complex litigation experience.

While specific salary ranges are not disclosed, compensation is competitive with top nonprofit law firms.
