Agoda is seeking a Lead Software Engineer specializing in back-end development to join our rapidly expanding FinTech team in Bangkok, Thailand. As a key player in our organization, you will be instrumental in designing and implementing robust backend systems that power our innovative financial products. This role offers a unique opportunity to work within a dynamic environment, contributing to the evolution of our financial technology solutions.
In this position, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of our products, from gathering business requirements and selecting appropriate technologies to coding, testing, and deploying applications. Your day-to-day activities will include developing and maintaining platforms and data pipelines across the FinTech domain, enhancing system performance to meet the dynamic demands of the financial landscape, and mentoring team members to uphold high coding standards. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to drive product and technology goals forward.
The ideal candidate will possess over 10 years of experience with strong proficiency in Java, Kotlin, Scala, or C#, and a proven track record of developing high-performance applications in production settings. Insightful experience with big data technologies like Hadoop, real-time processing frameworks such as Apache Spark, and advanced knowledge of SQL and data architecture are crucial. A systems-thinking approach, a metrics-driven mindset, and a passion for continuous improvement in software development are highly valued. Experience with Scrum/Agile methodologies and excellent English communication skills are also required.
