Lead Product Manager, Rent
Flex is a growth-stage FinTech company headquartered in New York City, dedicated to revolutionizing the rent payment experience. The company enables users to pay rent throughout the month on a schedule that aligns with their financial needs and budgets. The Rent team is committed to building the best rental experience for users, and the Lead Product Manager will play a pivotal role in turning this vision into reality.
The Lead Product Manager will manage the end-to-end product lifecycle for a core area of the rental experience, defining product strategy and roadmap, setting priorities, and driving execution from concept to launch and iteration. This role involves leading a dedicated cross-functional team composed of engineers, a designer, and a data analyst, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment. Responsibilities include conducting user interviews, data analysis, and market research to translate insights into clear product requirements, user stories, and feature specifications. The Lead Product Manager will also manage the product backlog, run sprint planning, and partner closely with engineering to ensure the delivery of high-quality products at a rapid pace. Additionally, the role requires defining and analyzing key metrics to measure product success, using A/B testing and data to continuously iterate and improve the user experience, and clearly articulating the roadmap, priorities, and results to the team, stakeholders, and leadership.
Candidates should have at least 5 years of product management experience with a strong portfolio of shipped products. Significant experience in building and scaling consumer-facing mobile or web applications is essential, along with a deep understanding of user experience. The ideal candidate is proactive, solution-oriented, and adept at overcoming obstacles. Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams without formal authority is crucial, as is proficiency in using analytics tools and running experiments to make data-informed decisions. Attention to detail and a high standard for quality, from writing clear specifications to ensuring a pixel-perfect user interface, are also important. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex problems into manageable steps and deliver iterative value to users, are required.
For candidates located in Tier 1 markets (New York City and San Francisco), the base salary pay range for this role is $216,000 to $270,000 USD. For other U.S. locations, Flex utilizes a geographic pay differential based on a cost of labor index, with starting pay adjusted to align with the market conditions of the specific geographic zone. Additional benefits include competitive medical, dental, and vision coverage, company equity, 401(k) plan with company match, unlimited paid time off plus 13 company-paid holidays, parental leave, the Flex Cares Program, and a free Flex subscription.
Flex is committed to building an inclusive culture and values a diverse team of intelligent, curious, determined, empathetic, and self-aware individuals. The company offers growth opportunities and fosters a collaborative environment where employees can share their perspectives and contribute to the mission of empowering renters with flexibility over their most significant recurring expense.
