Lead DevOps Engineer
Eurofins is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to join our global engineering team focused on developing next-generation applications and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS). This role is pivotal in designing, building, and governing scalable DevOps platforms and cloud infrastructure that support critical laboratory operations and customer-facing applications. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with architects, developers, Site Reliability Engineers (SREs), cloud engineers, and security teams to deliver highly reliable and automated deployment platforms.
Key responsibilities include leading the design and implementation of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Azure DevOps across multiple applications and environments. The role involves defining and enforcing DevOps standards for source control, branching strategies, artifact management, and release promotions. Additionally, the Lead DevOps Engineer will drive the adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform to ensure consistent and compliant environment provisioning. Managing release processes, deployment planning, and implementing zero-downtime deployment strategies such as Blue-Green and rolling deployments are also essential aspects of this position.
The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipeline design, and release orchestration. Proficiency in Azure Cloud services, including App Services, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Functions, Application Gateway, API Management, Azure Firewall, and Storage, is required. Solid experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, as well as a strong understanding of source control management, branching strategies, and artifact repositories such as NuGet, are essential. Experience with containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes (AKS), along with strong scripting skills in PowerShell and/or Python for automation, is also necessary. The candidate should have the ability to work effectively with global stakeholders across geographies.
