Lead Biochemist – Formulations
Eurofins is seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Biochemist to join our Formulations team in Boston, Massachusetts. In this role, you will support RNA-LNP development efforts by applying advanced biochemical and analytical techniques to characterize RNA-lipid nanoparticles, assist in formulation development, and perform hands-on laboratory work. Additionally, you will provide leadership by overseeing team activities, coaching team members, and fostering a positive, high-functioning work environment.
Key responsibilities include performing biochemical and analytical testing on RNA-LNP formulations using techniques such as HPLC, Solo-VPE, MFI, AKTA, DLS, HIAC, and viscosity measurements. You will support the preparation of formulations for RNA, proteins, and buffers, apply GLP principles, maintain high-quality documentation in an electronic lab notebook, assist with lab organization and equipment maintenance, and execute experiments in alignment with established protocols and SOPs.
The ideal candidate will have a B.S. in biological or biochemical sciences (or a related field) with 3–4 years of laboratory experience, or an M.S. with 1–2 years of experience. Experience with RNA, mRNA, siRNA, or RNA-LNP formulations is required, along with proficiency in chromatography and related separation techniques, hands-on experience with HPLC, and demonstrated leadership abilities such as training, mentoring, or leading a team. Strong troubleshooting skills, a continuous-improvement mindset, and excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork skills are essential.
Eurofins offers a competitive hourly rate between $39.00 and $44.00, depending on education and experience.
