Eurofins Experchem Laboratories, Inc. is seeking a Laboratory Technician for a temporary contract position in Toronto, Ontario. This role involves working within a dynamic team dedicated to providing high-quality analytical testing services across various industries, including food, environmental, pharmaceutical, and cosmetics. The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for preparing samples for analysis, performing extractions according to standard operating procedures, and conducting analyses of organic and inorganic materials. Additional duties include integrating and entering data into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), validating test methods, maintaining laboratory cleanliness, performing regular instrument maintenance and calibration, and managing consumables inventory. Adherence to the Quality System as documented in the Quality Assurance Manual is essential.
Candidates must possess a university degree or college diploma in a chemistry-related field, basic computer literacy, and training in laboratory safety and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS). Skills in instrument maintenance troubleshooting and technical knowledge of applicable test methods are also required. The role demands the ability to lift up to 60 lbs, proper handling of hazardous materials with appropriate personal protective equipment, and flexibility to work extra hours, including weekends and evenings, as necessary.
The position offers an hourly wage of CAD 18.00. The work schedule is Thursday to Sunday, with shifts from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM on weekdays and 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on weekends.
