Eurofins Environment Testing Southwest is seeking a Laboratory Technician I for Metals Preparation at their Tustin, CA facility. This role involves working within a team dedicated to environmental testing services, focusing on the preparation of soil and water samples for trace metal analysis. The Laboratory Technician I will be responsible for evaluating sample backlogs, prioritizing daily workloads based on due dates and holding times, and retrieving samples from storage for digestion and preparation. Duties include weighing and measuring sample aliquots, documenting preparation details, preparing reagents and standards, maintaining laboratory equipment, adhering to environmental health and safety policies, washing glassware, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Effective communication with department managers, analytical teams, and project managers regarding job status and sample issues is essential.

Candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with coursework in chemistry and basic laboratory experience. Essential skills include general knowledge of chemistry or science, basic mathematical abilities, strong problem-solving skills, the ability to learn quickly and multitask, work independently within time constraints, and proficiency in computer and organizational tasks. Excellent oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude are also required. Authorization to work in the United States without restriction or sponsorship and professional proficiency in English are mandatory.

The position offers a compensation range of $18 to $22 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. It is a full-time role with potential for overtime and weekend work as needed. Available shifts include Tuesday through Saturday, 12 pm to 9 pm, or Sunday through Thursday, 12 pm to 9 pm.
