Laboratory Technician I, Environment Testing, MIddleborogh, MA
Eurofins is seeking a Laboratory Technician I to join their Environment Testing team in Middleborough, MA. This full-time role involves performing basic sample and standard preparations, simple analyses, and sample custodial duties. The position operates Monday through Friday from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm, with an average workweek of 40-45 hours, depending on business needs. Compensation ranges from $19 to $20 per hour, depending on experience.
Key responsibilities include following laboratory standard operating procedures (SOPs) for sample receipt and handling, preparing samples, solutions, and reagents, and performing bottle preparation. The technician will conduct simple analyses or utilize instruments to provide data not directly reported to clients. Additional duties involve sample custodial tasks such as inventory upon receipt, storage, and disposal. Accurate documentation in accordance with ESS Laboratory policy and SOPs is essential, as is assisting chemists and other technicians as needed. The role also includes managing hazardous waste by ensuring proper storage and disposal, maintaining a safe and healthy work environment, and meeting all quality criteria specified in the QA manual.
Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree in a science-related field, exceptional attention to detail with the ability to learn and understand technical terms, and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Candidates should have basic laboratory experience, the ability to stand for long periods, and be willing to work nights and weekends when needed. Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship is required. Final candidates must pass a pre-employment background and drug screen. Professional working proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking, is also necessary.
