Laboratory Specimen Accessioner (no experience needed)
The Laboratory Specimen Accessioner at DNA Diagnostics Center (DDC), a subsidiary of Eurofins, plays a crucial role in the accurate intake, processing, and management of DNA testing cases. DDC is a global leader in DNA relationship testing, processing over one million samples worldwide, and offers a broad portfolio of services including paternity, immigration, and other DNA relationship tests. The company's headquarters and DNA testing laboratory are located in Fairfield, OH, within the greater Cincinnati area.
In this role, the Accessioner is responsible for processing and verifying incoming sample packages, ensuring chain of custody and package integrity. Key duties include accurately inputting and auditing patient and contract information into the Laboratory Information System, managing case assignments, tracking progress, and determining case resolution and closure. Additional responsibilities involve preparing and sending final reports, chain-of-custody documents, and affidavits in a timely manner, as well as collaborating with internal departments to facilitate case resolution.
The ideal candidate possesses a high school diploma or GED, with one to two years of previous data entry experience preferred. Essential skills include the ability to prioritize workload and meet production goals in a high-volume environment, proficiency in Microsoft Office, strong typing skills, and the capacity to multitask while maintaining accuracy and compliance. Strong problem-solving abilities and knowledge of record-keeping and chain-of-custody protocols are advantageous. Self-motivation and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential.
The position offers a competitive hourly compensation ranging from $16.00 to $17.00, with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm.
