Intern Data Analyst

Eurofins Food Safety Solutions (FSS) in Deventer is offering an internship focused on enhancing data-driven food safety risk assessments using EFSA monitoring data. As an Intern Data Analyst, you will work with the CompreHensive European Food Safety (CHEFS) database, which contains extensive analytical monitoring results from EU Member States covering contaminants, pesticide residues, veterinary residues, and related hazards across more than 4,000 food products over the period 2000–2024. Your primary task will be to make the CHEFS database more comprehensible through structuring, grouping, and visualizations.

In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing and developing data-driven food safety risk assessments. This includes working with large datasets, structuring and grouping data, and creating visualizations to present findings effectively. You will collaborate with a young and collaborative team, contributing ideas and insights to improve food safety assessments.

The ideal candidate is a Bachelor or Master student in Data Science, Computer Science, ICT, Bioinformatics, or a related field. You should have a strong interest in data science and business intelligence, be comfortable working with large datasets, and possess experience with PostgreSQL/SQL and data visualization tools such as PowerBI. The ability to work independently while contributing to a team, along with analytical skills and attention to data quality, interpretation, and reproducibility, are essential. Proficiency in English and/or Dutch is required.

This full-time internship offers a monthly allowance and travel reimbursement (excluding cases where Student OV can be used). The position is available starting from May 2026, with a minimum duration of six months.
