Information Technology Support Technician - Courtroom Technology
The Iowa Judicial Branch is seeking a detail-oriented and innovative Information Technology Support Technician to join our team. This position is based in the Woodbury County Courthouse in Sioux City, Iowa, and covers all counties in Judicial District 3, including Lyon, Osceola, Dickinson, Emmet, Kossuth, Sioux, O’Brien, Clay, Palo Alto, Plymouth, Cherokee, Buena Vista, Woodbury, Ida, Monona, and Crawford. The role requires travel to judicial locations within these counties.
The primary responsibilities include ensuring all courtrooms have fully functioning audio and visual systems through regular testing, monitoring, and troubleshooting. The technician will effectively operate and manage digital recording management software used to record official court proceedings, monitor compliance with Judicial Branch digital recording policies, and organize, maintain, and archive digitally recorded court proceedings to ensure accuracy and availability. Additional duties involve purging digital recordings according to retention policies, processing requests for copies of recorded proceedings, and assisting with transcript requests.
Candidates must have a high school diploma (or equivalent) and at least one year of experience in computer science or a related field. Preferred qualifications include four years of experience in computer science, business systems analysis, management information systems, or a closely related field, with at least one year of hands-on work in AV equipment setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Strong attention to detail, effective problem-solving abilities, and excellent customer service and communication skills are essential. Reliable transportation and a willingness to travel as required are also necessary.
The position offers a competitive salary ranging from $52,936.00 to $83,678.40 annually, with adjustments based on relevant experience.
