Head of Security, APAC
Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Manager of Security for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, based in Sydney, Australia. This pivotal role involves designing, building, and leading the company's security function across Australia and the broader APAC region. Reporting to the Head of Security, the successful candidate will establish and mature security frameworks to protect operations, facilities, personnel, and sensitive information throughout the APAC footprint. The Sydney office, being the most mature in the region, will serve as the operational base, with the expectation to provide security leadership to all APAC offices as they scale.
Key responsibilities include designing and building Anduril's regional security function across the Asia-Pacific, establishing security baselines for newer offices while maturing the established Australian program. The role involves directly managing permanent and contract staff in Australia, recruiting, mentoring, and growing a high-performing regional security team, and identifying when local security resources are needed in each country as scale increases. Additionally, the position requires leading the regional counterintelligence and threat management program in partnership with the global Counterintelligence team, identifying and mitigating insider threats, conducting security investigations, and managing foreign intelligence risks specific to the APAC operating environment. The Senior Manager will also develop and maintain protective security frameworks for personnel, information, and facilities across the region.
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in Security Management, International Relations, Business Administration, or a related field, with extensive relevant experience potentially substituting for a degree. A minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in security leadership roles is required, with at least 5 years operating at a regional or national level within the defense industry, government, or a highly regulated sector. Proven expertise in physical security, industrial security, and counterintelligence methodologies is essential, along with demonstrated experience with Australian Government security frameworks, particularly DISP, DSPF, and AGSVA clearance processes. Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills are necessary, with a proven ability to influence stakeholders, build cross-functional relationships, and develop talent across cultural boundaries. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of strategic thinking and hands-on operational execution in dynamic, high-pressure situations, are also required. The candidate must be willing to travel regularly across the APAC region (estimated 20-30% of time) and have the ability to obtain and maintain an Australian NV2 Security Clearance.
