Head of Microbiology Department (F/M)

Eurofins Scientific is seeking a Head of Microbiology Department to lead its accredited laboratory specializing in microbiological analyses of food, feed, water, and environmental samples. This role offers the opportunity to drive scientific excellence within a dynamic, international life sciences company dedicated to ensuring product safety and authenticity.

The successful candidate will oversee daily laboratory operations, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with ISO 17025 standards. Responsibilities include supervising and developing a team of microbiologists and technicians, managing laboratory resources, and leading method validation and continuous improvement initiatives. Additionally, the role involves acting as a subject matter expert during audits and customer inquiries.

Candidates should possess a Master's degree in Microbiology, Biology, Biotechnology, or a related life science, with at least five years of laboratory experience, including two to three years in a leadership role. Strong knowledge of classical microbiological testing methods and molecular techniques, experience in regulated environments, and proficiency in English and Lithuanian are essential. Excellent people management and problem-solving skills are also required.
