Head of Internal Communications
Checkr is seeking a Head of Internal Communications to lead strategic internal and executive communications programs. This role reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer and collaborates closely with the C-Suite and broader leadership team. The successful candidate will help employees understand the company's vision, goals, projects, and executive updates, fostering a culture of collaboration and engagement.
Key responsibilities include developing and executing a strategic internal and executive communications plan aligned with Checkr's vision and mission. The role involves working cross-functionally with Human Resources, Marketing, Product, R&D, and Leadership to execute communication initiatives from concept to delivery. Additionally, the Head of Internal Communications will produce employee communications across various channels, manage the company's internal communications by maintaining the editorial calendar, writing stories, creating videos, and contributing to the intranet. Supporting leadership and company meetings by crafting messaging, agendas, selecting speakers, and handling logistics is also a key aspect of the role.
The ideal candidate brings over 10 years of experience writing in a corporate environment and managing various corporate communications channels. Strong executive communications experience is essential, with the ability to write and tailor content for specific audiences, demonstrating a deep understanding of messaging, positioning, and stakeholder needs. Comfort working with executives at all levels is required. Proficiency in utilizing AI and other technology solutions to scale impact and enhance company-wide communication is important. The candidate should be organized, creative, adaptable, and comfortable working at a fast pace to meet tight deadlines.
Compensation for this role ranges from $246,000 to $289,000 USD annually, depending on location and experience.
