Head of Engineering
BrainRocket is seeking a visionary and results-driven Head of Engineering to lead our engineering organization into its next phase of growth. As a global company creating end-to-end tech products for clients across Fintech, iGaming, and Marketing, we have rapidly expanded across multiple countries. This on-site position in Belgrade offers the opportunity to shape the technical strategy and scalability of our high-load systems, ensuring our products remain benchmarks for performance, security, and innovation.
In this role, you will define and execute the long-term technical roadmap, ensuring the platform scales seamlessly with the business. You will direct and mentor Engineering Managers and Team Leads, overseeing the growth, performance evaluations, and succession planning for the entire department. Establishing and enforcing global engineering standards, documentation practices, and KPIs will be key to maintaining high-quality, secure, and maintainable codebases. Additionally, you will optimize the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile processes across all teams, eliminating bottlenecks and managing cross-team resource allocation.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's, Master's, or higher degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. A proven track record of over 10 years in backend development, with at least 5 years in high-level leadership roles managing multiple teams or managers, is essential. Extensive experience with high-load, distributed systems, microservices architecture, Kubernetes, and cloud-native development is required. Deep expertise in SQL/NoSQL databases, message brokers, and secure CI/CD pipelines is also necessary. Exceptional leadership, presentation, and communication skills, along with fluency in English, are a must.
