Head of AI Enablement & Engineering
Capital on Tap is seeking a Head of AI Enablement & Engineering to spearhead the integration of artificial intelligence into their product and engineering teams. This pivotal role involves setting AI strategy, leading an elite AI Enablement team, and collaborating closely with product teams to transform software development practices. The position is based in London (Moorgate) with a hybrid work model, requiring three days in the office per week.
In this role, you will be responsible for establishing a 12-month plan to triple the company's product delivery capabilities. This includes redesigning the software delivery lifecycle to incorporate agentic AI across all stages—from specification through coding, review, testing, and release. You will also lead decisions on AI developer tooling, model access, and evaluation, ensuring a balance between capability, cost, and vendor independence. Collaboration with Information Security, Data Protection, Risk, and Compliance teams is essential to establish operational guardrails that facilitate rapid development within a Financial Conduct Authority-regulated environment.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leading AI-driven transformations within product and engineering organizations, demonstrating measurable results. Hands-on experience with agentic coding tools and large language model-based workflows is crucial. A strong background in building and leading high-performing engineering teams with solid technical foundations is required. Proficiency in C#/.NET and Azure is highly desirable. Additional experience in introducing agentic AI into infrastructure, observability, and data pipelines is advantageous. Commercial acumen, including the ability to assess cost, return on investment, and customer outcomes, is essential, as is experience in designing controls within regulated environments that enable rather than hinder progress.
