Muon Space is seeking a Harness Designer to join our electrical engineering team. This role involves specifying connectors, crimps, wire types, and harness build instructions, working closely with the mechanical harness counterpart to define routes, lengths, and integration instructions. The position is based in our Mountain View, CA office with a hybrid schedule requiring three days on-site per week.

Key responsibilities include creating harness drawings, bills of materials, and maintaining system diagrams. The designer will specify connector and crimp part numbers, gather feedback from various teams for design improvements, ensure compliance with signal integrity and grounding requirements, release documentation into the Product Lifecycle Management system, define electrical test criteria, and support or oversee test execution and documentation. Additionally, the role involves addressing vendor questions and assisting in-house technicians with harness builds.

The ideal candidate will have attention to detail, strong reading comprehension, and a desire for ownership. Familiarity with creating harness drawings in any software and with PLM systems (preferably Duro, but others like Arena are acceptable) is required. The ability to build harnesses from scratch is beneficial, as it informs various design aspects. A willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with new challenges each week is essential.

The salary range for this role is $159,000 to $184,000, plus a competitive equity grant and comprehensive benefits package. Final compensation will be determined based on skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location as assessed during the interview process.
